Sitka is one of my favorite small Alaska communities to visit any time of year. It's a close-knit, friendly, seaside town with plenty to see and do and some great restaurants and breweries. Walking the streets and photographing Sitka at night in the off-season is one of my great pleasures.

Sitka is very much a fishing community. With seven harbors and 1,347 permanent slips, Sitka has the largest port system in Alaska.

The waters around the city are beautiful, with the airport runway lights adding colorful reflections at night.
